HORUS EGYPTIAN ART PRINT

$30.00$10.00

NOW AVAILABLE IN LARGER SIZE PRINTS!!!
Horus was one of the most important and ancient deity of Egyptian gods. His name Horus means “The One Far Away” and commonly was known as Heru or Har. Horus was originally the Sky God, but he is also known as War God, Hunter’s God, God of Kingship and others.

He played the role as the protector of the ruler of Egypt. His appearance portrayed as a hawk headed man, holding scepter and ankh and wearing a white and red colored crown. The white and red colors represent Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt.

Sometimes he is also shown as a hawk, a lion with the head of a hawk or a hawk resting on the neck of the pharaoh. During the pharaoh’s reign, they identified themselves with Horus and the Egyptians believed that Horus has manifested in human form.

Horus was the son of Aset and Osiris. Horus fought with Set for the throne of Egypt after his father Osiris was murdered by his brother Set. He lost one of his eyes during the battle. But it was healed by Thoth, the God of Wisdom. Horus won the battle, cast Set out into the desert and then he became the ruler of the world of the living.
